Well, we all know that 2020 was filled with some historic events, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and India’s clash with its neighbour, China. The border dispute happened in Galwan Valley and since then, India has been trying to cut down on Chinese imports. Some tech companies used the situation pretty well to launch some games with Indian sentiments, such as FAU-G in 2021. 

But the game was pretty awful and didn’t have the things for which it was marketed to be spectacular. So, let’s go ahead and try to know if the next version of the game, which is “FAU-G Domination,” is going to be truly good or not. 

FAU-G Was A Huge Disappointment In 2021!

The game was pretty awful, with an incomplete storyline and subpar graphics in most of the gameplay scenes. FAU-G was marketed as a serious competitor to other popular FPS shooter games, like PUBG. Many Bollywood celebrities promoted the game and said it was a proud creation of the Indian mobile gaming industry. But the reality was different. 

The game was released for public usage across the world on January 26, which is Indian Republic Day. FAU-G was also released for iOS devices in March 2021. Most of the game’s promotion was based on national sentiments, which raised some eyebrows across the tech world. Still, many people waited for the game and downloaded it with full enthusiasm. 

It was developed by nCore Studios, which is one of the most popular game development studios in India. Initially, everyone thought that the game was going to be filled with amazing graphics and a great storyline in the story mode. But soon, all the excitement was gone in vain. Popular Youtubers like Technical Guruji praised the game for its attempt to become a solid competition to PUBG, but the physics in the game were trash for most parts. 

Plus, nCore Studios also promised to release the multiplayer version of the game by April 2021 but that has yet to become a reality. Even though some users of FAU-G claimed to have played in the multiplayer mode, that was filled with glitches and inabilities to join multiplayer rooms. This revealed the hollow promises made by the game’s developers. 

FAU-G Domination: Will It Be Better?

nCore Games has spoken to IGN about the upcoming game. They have said that the game will come in a similar format to PUBG and will have a multiplayer mode with team deathmatch options. It will have maps of locations inspired by real places in India. But they didn’t reveal those locations yet. According to co-founder Deepak Ail, the game is still under development and will be released for mobile devices soon.

With the backlash faced by the previous iteration of the FAU-G game, the developers should come back with a good relaunch. Dot9 Games has many old players in the game industry who developed some OG games like BioShock, IPL, Spiderman, and much more. They have showcased FAU-G Domination at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco.

It is expected that 60 fps will be the default FPS in the new edition. Time will tell how much Dot9 Games has tried to improve on the unfavourable reviews that they got during their last try with FAU-G. We can expect FAU-G Domination to be launched by the end of July this year.

FAU-G’s first version was released in 2021 but received mostly negative reviews due to its poor gameplay and storyline. But nCore Games is expected to make a comeback with FAU-G Domination as the spiritual successor to the previous one. They showcased the game at GDC 2024, which was held in San Francisco. The initial visuals of the game look pretty good so far.
