Motor shows are the best ways to get previews of cars and concepts that will hit the market in future. The Beijing Motor Show is finally back after a long wait of over 4 years, as the last time it was held was in 2019. In the motor show, many new SUVs, hatchbacks and sedans will be showcased by popular automobile manufacturers.

Indian Models Showcased At Beijing Motor Show: 2024

Mercedes AMG GT-63 SE Performance

It is the hybrid version of the Mercedes four seater coupe that will be equipped with heavy power and better performance than in the previous generation. It will churn out a whopping 815 hp and 1420 Nm of torque. Currently, Mercedes sells a four door version of the car, which is priced at Rs 3.3 crore. 

Mercedes Benz E-class (6th generation)

Last year, Mercedes launched the latest 6th generation E-class. This model is expected to be launched at the 2024 Beijing Motor Show. The E-class has increased in size and offers a larger space and legroom for increased comfort. The model is expected to launch in hybrid configuration and could arrive soon in India around the holiday season. 

Beijing Motor Show 2024: Notable Models

BYD Pickup

BYD is a popular electric car manufacturer in the Asia-Pacific region. They have launched several popular EVs, like the BYD Seal, the BYD e6, and the BYD Atto 3. Now BYD is set to unveil an EV pickup, which will be a direct rival to the most popular offering by Toyota, the Hilux. 

It will be a medium sized pickup and feature a large battery pack. The exterior looks are expected to be like the Rivian pickup.

Zeekr Mix

Zeekr is a new company in the automobile industry. As per reports, they are looking forward to launching the concept of a small EV to compete with the Smart #5. It is expected to have the same battery pack as the Zeekr 001, which is a 66 kWh battery pack. 

Ora 7

Ora 7 is expected to be showcased at the 2024 Beijing Motor Show. The looks of Ora 7 is inspired from retro cars’ sliding hoods. The design is mostly inspired by the Porsche Panamera. It could launch on a four wheel or two wheel drivetrain. It could have an 83 kWh battery with a range of 600 km.

Avatr 12

The Chinese manufacturer of EVs, Avatr, is expected to launch a five door model, named the Avatr 12. To make the EV, they have partnered with CATL, a battery manufacturer, and Huawei. The model is expected to make a global debut at the 2024 Beijing Motor Show.

How soon will the cars launch in India?

The cars from global manufacturers like Mercedes are expected to arrive by the start of the holiday season this year. If everything goes well, the AMG GT-63 and the E-Class 6th generation could arrive as soon as October this year. But everything depends on the demand in the Indian automobile market.
